Lenses And Photography Vocabulary

I would use a telephoto lens to take a picture of the president from a far distance

I would use a prime lens to take a picture of a crab on the beach floor

I would use a wide-angle lens to take a picture of the inside of a big house.

Depth of Field- The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.
Ex: I wonder what the Depth of Field is from my camera to that tree.


Light (angle and intensity)- Light is the exposure of the camera and how intense it is.
Ex: Their is a lot of light in this picture


Shadows- Shadows are the dark parts in the photo.
Ex: Their are to many shadows in this picture


Diffusion- The action of spreading the light from a light source evenly so as to reduce glare and harsh shadows.
Ex: I diffused the light on Photoshop.


Exposure-The state of being exposed to contact with something.
Ex: Their is to much exposure outside.


 Aperture (f-stop)- A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, esp. the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
Ex:
The Camera mr.doerr showed us has a huge aperture

Shutter speed- In photography, shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time, the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open
Ex:I like taking pictures with a low shutter speed.


ISO:International Organization for Standardization.
Ex: The picture has a high ISO.
